The municipality of Carmen, Bohol, recently held a lively celebration to mark its 155th Foundation Anniversary. The festivities, led by Municipal Mayor Conchita Toribio Delos Reyes, showcased the town’s agricultural bounty, cultural heritage, and community spirit.


A highlight of the event was the colorful Farmer’s Agri-Float Parade, featuring vibrant floats adorned with local produce and representations of the “Diwatas,” guardian spirits, from each of Carmen’s 29 barangays. This delightful display paid homage to the town’s agricultural roots and the vital role farmers play in the community.
The opening program featured a keynote address by DIR. ANGEL C. ENRIQQUEZ, CESO III (Regional Director DA-7), underlining the importance of agriculture in the region’s development. The program likely also included other speeches, cultural performances, and presentations that reflected on Carmen’s history and its vision for the future.
Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, the winners of the “Best Diwata” contest were announced:
- 1st Place: Vallehermoso Barangay
- 2nd Place: Nueva Vida Sur Barangay
- 3rd Place: La Paz Barangay
