About Carmen

Carmen is a charming municipality located in the heart of Bohol Island. While landlocked, it boasts of natural wonders that have made it a popular tourist destination.

Most notably, Carmen is home to a portion of the world-famous Chocolate Hills. These unique geological formations, consisting of over 1,200 cone-shaped hills, turn a captivating chocolate brown during the dry season. This sight, along with the rolling hills and lush landscapes, paints a picturesque scene.

Beyond the Chocolate Hills, Carmen offers a glimpse into rural Filipino life. The town holds a special carabao market, a unique opportunity to witness the cultural significance of these water buffaloes. Additionally, Carmen celebrates its fiesta every January 17th, honoring its patron saint, Saint Anthony de Abbot.

With its natural beauty, cultural offerings, and friendly locals, Carmen provides a worthwhile experience for any visitor seeking a taste of Bohol’s hidden gems.
